"AI writing tool" covers very different products. Some write the whole blog post for you. Some help you write a better post yourself by showing what the ranking pages cover. Others handle the small jobs around a blog: intros, meta descriptions, newsletters and social posts.

This guide matches five tools to the way you actually blog. It's based on each vendor's official pricing and feature pages, checked on 20 October 2026. We haven't written test posts with these tools for this guide, so there are no invented quality scores. Instead, we compare what each tool is built to do and what each plan includes.

1. Koala AI: best for full long-form drafts in volume

5,000 free words, no card

What it is: KoalaWriter turns a keyword into a full, SEO-optimized blog post by analysing the pages that rank for it. Brand DNA reads your website so articles use your services, voice and existing pages. Automatic internal linking, AI images, bulk writing and one-click publishing to WordPress, Shopify, Webflow and Ghost are part of the package. Professional and above add an article editor with an SEO score, Deep Research with citations, KoalaLinks and a Search Console dashboard.

Pricing: Starter $25/month (45,000 words, 500 credits), Professional $49/month (100,000 words, 1,000 credits) and Boost $99/month (250,000 words). Larger plans sit above these. Annual billing saves 20%. Every new account starts with 5,000 free words and 25 credits without a card, and Koala lists a 15-day refund window if you've used minimal credits.

Choose it if: you run a content or affiliate blog and want publish-ready drafts that you then edit, rather than writing from a blank page.

2. NeuronWriter: best for optimizing posts you write yourself

7-day trial (Gold terms)

What it is: NeuronWriter is a content editor. You enter a keyword, it analyses the top-ranking pages, suggests terms, topics and structure, and scores your draft as you write. It also includes AI writing credits and templates, a content planner, and monitoring of how AI answers mention your brand. Gold and above add one-click article drafts (Content Designer), plagiarism checks, integrations with Google Search Console, WordPress and Shopify, and team sharing.

Pricing: Bronze $23/month, Silver $45, Gold $69, Platinum $93 and Diamond $117. Yearly billing is cheaper (Bronze is $230 a year). There's a 7-day trial on Gold terms and a refund window of 30 days on your first plan.

Choose it if: you enjoy writing and want data-backed guidance on what to cover, at a low monthly price.

3. Frase: best for a research-to-refresh content loop

7-day trial, no card

What it is: Frase researches what ranks for a topic, drafts and optimizes the article in your voice, publishes to WordPress, Webflow, Sanity or Wix (or its own FraseCMS), and audits existing pages. Content Guard watches published pages for Google decay and proposes fixes that it republishes on your approval. Frase also tracks AI visibility across ChatGPT and Google AI on Starter, with more engines on higher plans.

Pricing: Starter $49/month ($39 billed yearly) for one seat, one site, 10 articles and 50 audit pages a month. Professional is $129/month ($103 yearly), and Scale $299/month ($239 yearly). Starter holds at its limits instead of charging overages. There's a 7-day free trial without a card.

Choose it if: your blog already has many posts and refreshing them matters as much as writing new ones.

In 2026 Rytr also positions itself around relationship management, with features called Engage, connected sources and briefings on its higher plans. For bloggers, the writing side is the main reason to use it.

Pricing: Free (10,000 characters a month), Lite $9/month with unlimited characters, Personal $19/month and Pro $49/month. Yearly billing saves 20%. Personal and Pro mainly add the relationship features rather than more writing features.

Choose it if: you write your posts yourself and want cheap help with the pieces around them.
